GIMZA is the only restaurant in Georgia dedicated in serving authentic Polish food in a modern European style. Our food is freshly prepared each morning, and cooked when ordered.
We try to use as much as possible ingredients imported from Poland.
We are a small business with the intent of doing something good for the community. Our sincere thanks goes to everyone who has helped us take the 'rocky' road in creating and opening the restaurant.
Due to its geographical location, Poland has always been influenced by many different cultures. There was a time when its empire stretched from the Black Sea to the Baltic Sea.
It has always taken a defensive or offensive role with its neighbors. It stopped the Turkish (Ottoman Empire) invasion of Europe in the 17th century, and after two World Wars and 50 years of Communist rule it freed itself through Solidarity in the 1980’s.
This strong willed and persistent type of character is inherent in all Poles and there is no better way to depict it than through food and hospitality from the Poles themselves.
Polish folklore is boased on a rich variety of food, drink, clothing, dancing, singing and dialect. It is still very visible in everyday life today as it was a thousand years ago. Even now it is possible to determine from which part of Poland a person comes from by the way they behave, cook and eat.
